Is This Workout/diet Plan Good?

Alright, my goal is to get in loose weight right now. I’m on a 2100 Calorie Diet( http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie… Using the Fat Loss recommendation ). I’m also trying to be high protein.
So, I’m going to start biking 1 hour everyday.
Every other day I’ll alternate weight lifting (Fairly intense)
My question to you is does this look good? Should I be worried about loosing muscle from all the biking, or will the lifting help counter it? Should I make a protein shake after biking?
Thanks!

Biking and weight lifting are a very good way to help lose fat and gain some muscle. You will not lose muscle from biking. You only lose muscle from not using the muscles, old age, diseases, or starving. Excess protein does NOT help gain muscle! Protein is very helpful with weight loss but an excess of it does nothing, so as long as you are getting sufficient protein in your diet already you do not need to make a protein shake after biking. You should probably talk to a certified personal trainer about what kind of weight lifting program is right for you. Muscle weighs more than fat, so don’t get discouraged if your scale does not go down like you thought it would, especially if you are doing a weigh lifting program. The lifting will help you to gain muscle, and the biking will help you burn fat (in a nut shell). It’s about what type of exercise it is and whether or not it uses oxygen. Good luck!
