Of course you can still eat sweets! However, try to go for more natural sweets with less sugar. I see that you have no fruits in your meal plan. Fruits are excellent forms of nutrients and their sugar component is natural. And STOP DRINKING SODA!!!! It's horrible for you! It rots your teeth and has tons of sugar in it! Even if it says sugar-free, it's not. Sweeteners like Splenda don't count as sugar, but they are. And try to have a more fibrous breakfast. Cake is generally not good for you, and starting your day off with it is not a good indicator of the rest of your day. Oatmeal is great, especially with fresh/dried fruits. Hope that helps!

1200 calories should include:
2 servings lean protein
3 servings whole grain bread, cereal, rice, pasta
2 servings low fat dairy
3 servings veggies
2 servings fruit.
Your diet is short on:
grains
dairy
veggies and
fruit
Soda pop is not good for you, diet or otherwise. Sweet has 120 cal per SERVING [ 2 per bottle ], and diet still affects bone density.
Good luck finding a 200 calorie cake or brownie.
You MIGHT lose weight, but only temporarily, unless you curtail the sweet toooth.
Try having only 50 - 100 [ few fork or spponfuls ]calories of a sweet after dinner; IF no cheating all day.
