Weight Cut Problems?

I’m a high school football player, and I currently tip the scales at 250lbs. I’m 6′ 2″, so I have the height to distribute the weight properly. However, I’d like to drop some weight, preferably the body fat hiding on my person. I play Tight End and Defensive End, so I know I can afford extra weight, however, I want to be as cut as possible.
Here’s my dilemma:
-I hate cardio/aerobics, so I’m trying to avoid it for as long as possible
-I don’t know how to cut the calories back in my diet back to the point when I could counter my calorie intake.
-I play football, so too big of a drop could get me killed.

You hate cardio? Too bad, then stay the way you are. 45 minutes, 3x a week after your weight training.
Cut calories 20%, no excuses, it can be done easily. Do that to start and if you need to reduce calories even more. Eat less for every meal. You should be having 6 small meals anyways.
