Should I Increase My Calorie Intake To 1500 Or Should I Just Stop My Diet?
I’m eating about 1200 calories a day but my mom says I’m not eating enough. I’m 17 years old and 5′2. She says I’m too skinny and that I look sick. She also says that I look lost in my martial arts uniform. She also says that I’m disappearing and losing my figure.I told her that I look normal when I look in the mirror everyday but she says that the mirror adds weight on me. My dad also calls me a skeleton. My mom also hates it when I count my calories and measure my food. I don’t know whether or not to believe them when they say I’m too thin because my weight loss may be something new to them. I used to be about 138 lbs before the weight loss. I’ve been dieting for about 9 months now, I don’t know how much I currently weigh now because I don’t have a scale. The last time I checked, i was 113 lbs which was 2 months ago. I am now eating 5-6 small meals day. I always eat oatmeal for breakfast which I love. I’m just really confused and I don’t know what to do. Sometimes I get sick of counting calories. I’m also afraid of gaining weight.
Fist i applaud your self discipline it take allot to keep track like that.
Second your BMI (Body mass index is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women)
Is in the normal range if your at 113 lbs but when you hit 102 lbs your underweight, so right now is a good stopping point.
However if you don’t want to stop cold turkey maybe start having
“Treat day” once or even twice a week allow yourself to stop counting calories , and indulge yourself on ice cream or soda and chips.
As long as you continue to eat Mostly healthy foods everyday then you should be able to maintain a healthy and slim weight.

5′2″ and 138lbs is def. too heavy for me. can you also work out too? you’ll get an amazing body if you do. with a low fat body, all the muscles will show and your figure will be awesome. also, you can increase your calorie intake if you workout.
don’t worry about hitting a specific calorie intake. I rather be thin than fat. just my thoughts…
At 1500 calories do you still lose weight? Why don’t you bring yourself up to a maintenaince level for awhile. Give your body a break, some time to recooperate, then drop your calories by maybe a 100 per day. Then you’ll lose a pound a month, you wont be starving yourself and you will feel great.
Just stop dieting and counting how many calories you eat. Constant dieting can put you in a lot of health problems such as Anorexia Nervosa, you could even die!
the ideal calorie intake is 2000 calories a day and if overweight a worry then just try excersing to burn calories

At 5′2 and 138 pounds is not fat at any means for a teenager. Anybody who tells you that you were fat is a liar! I worked with many who were around your height and around 140 or a little below.
I think you should seek someone to talk about this it really sounds like you have an eating disorder.
I could see weighing 113 or under if you were under 5 foot tall but your not. That’s to thin for you! Don’t go by the book you can look in a mirror and tell what you look like. That is why your mom and them are saying these things to you.
Because at 5′2 and 113 or lease YOU ARE WAY TO THIN!
How do I know because I am a Personal Trainer and it’s my job to keep people looking good and healthy at the same time. You my friend are not healthy right now. Are you trying to hurt yourself? You need at least 2000 cal’s a day nothing less. As long as your active you will burn the weight you need.
Just don’t go out here and fill up on alot of fast food and sit there and do nothing and just eat. As long as your active and you eat right you will be healthy and look good it’s that simple.
You have a real serious problem here if your that afraid of gaining weight something is going on here.
Trust me on this if you don’t take care of your body it isn’t going to take care of you!
Stop counting cal’s get yourself back to a 2000 cal a day. Work out and eat right!
If you keep this up your body is going to get sick and that my friend is no laughing matter. Our human bodies can only take so much after all it’s a machine and just like cars break down so does human bodies remember that! If you don’t take care of a car it will break down same thing with your body.
You got to keep it tuned up and in good cond and give it the fuel it needs to survive.
Here is a little tough love for you! Everybody wants to be thin but does not want to work out. Starving yourself isn’t the answer. As soon as you start eating your body will absorb everything you put into it that’s why you put on weight so quick after starving yourself on a diet.
Just eat normal and work out as long as you work out you will be able to eat what you want.
Stop starving yourself!
