Can I Eat Pleasure Food On A Diet Time To Time And Stay Within The Recommended Daily Value?

Overall am starting to eat a healthy diet with lots of fiber, fruits and veggies, some fish, portioned meats, no sodas, vitamin supps, lots of green tea and water, low salts, sugars, and trans fat. I know I can have rare cheat meals but if i stay within the limits say within 20 g of saturated fat and a 2000 calorie diet; is it ok to eat 2 slices of pizza or chinese for dinner but eat good throughout the day and excercise as well.

I would think it’s okay. Eat 2 slices of pizza with a leafy green salad, and some watered down fruit juice. I like using club soda to water down my juices. Instant soda, but way healthier!
As for Chinese food, I never understood why people got fat on it. I am Chinese, and whenever I see anyone who is Chinese (or Asian) and fat, I’m thinking, they must be Westernized.
My husband, who is not Chinese, believes that people eat Chinese food the wrong way. He says Chinese food should be served over a bed of rice, and shared amongst 3-4 people. Instead, people think that one take-out container equals one serving, and that’s just way too much food! I’m not saying that’s how you eat, but maybe that’s why you think CHinese food is fattening? A typical CHinese dinner for my healthy uncle and Grandmother would include steamed rice, whole steamed fish with ginger and scallions, and steamed veggies, like baby bok choy. Can’t go wrong there!
At any rate, good luck! You sound like you’re on the right path!

it’s always ok to do that occasionally. Because then it prevents you from wanting it so bad you splurge and go overboard….
