I quit drinking four years ago….
I started losing hair four years ago…..
I’m thinking that I never made up in diet – calorie wise – what I used to drink…
I always attributed it at the time to stress…..the new stress of not drinking that is…..just an idea…..
Anyhow, I’ve had about every bit of bloodwork done that could be – and it all came by normal…..
Is it possible that its as simple as I’m scrawny as could be?
I’m 5 foot 8 and 115lb…..consume about 1200 cal a day….
If its a possibility, let me know….

Try eating healthy things like salmon, sweet potatoes, blue berries, green veggies, whole grains, and include olive oil and nuts, eggs that are omega three enriched. Your hormones can make you lose hair too.I believe the reduction in calorie intake decreases your hormone production. Just a theory, I am not a doctor. But this happened to me when I was younger and stopped eating because of the turmoil in my life. As soon as I started eating normal meals again, my hair was thick and shiny once again. I believe as soon as you up your calorie intake in a healthy way you should be back to normal. If you find you cannot handle the increase in calories maybe a supplement drink could help you. Pregnant women take vitamins and they normally have thick, shiny, beautiful hair. Try your local health food store and ask for vitamins that can help hair growth. Vitamin E is a big one.
Eating lots of fruits and vegi’s should be an integral part of your diet also. I could 1500 calories worth of candy bars….but that would kill me eventually. You need heatlthy food, not just a higher caloric intake.

You need more than 1200. 1200 is the bare bare minimum caloric intake to just maintain basic functions. You need about 2000 maybe a bit more. Malnutrition can cause hair loss. Have you ever seen an anorexic with beautiful hair? You are a bit underweight for your height as well.
