I’m on a diet and excersise program that consists of 1500 cal and 30 min on the treadmill 5 times a week..
my problem is although i eat a good breakfast, i find that most of my calorie intake(60%) happens 2-3 hours before i sleep..how will that effect my weight loss plan?
It doesn’t matter when you eat as long as you burn more calories a day than you consume. You will loose weight. You should try incorporating some weight training into your fitness routine, maybe 30 minutes 3 times a week. You will be shocked at how much faster you will see results.
they say the latest you should eat is 4 hours before your bedtime. I am not sure how much this would affect anything though because if you are exercising that much and only taking in 1500 cals…you should be well on your way to skinny bliss no matter what time of day you eat! If you can, try not to eat too late…
go to sleep later?
although it is recommended that you stop eating 2-3 hours before bedtime, if you consume most of your calories during that time it might effect your weight loss plan. your metabolism slows down during the evening hours and it’s a lot harder for your body to use the energy you consumed instead of storing it. in which case, the body stores more than it would if you ate the same amount earlier in the day. it’s quite logical too, the calories you’d consume earlier in the day may still be somewhat metabolised as long as you keep active during the rest of the day (as simple as walking to a store). but if your calorie intake is 2-3 hours before bedtime, chances are you are already widing down to go to sleep, and it’s not one of your most productive (or physically active) times of day…….i’d suggest you try to eat a bit earier than that. hopefully no later than 7pm, or at least eat the bulk of your calories earlier and then snak on lower calorie foods (fruits, vegetables) during the evening hours. but you should consult your physician as well. hope this helps
It really won’t affect it that much. I am on a weight loss plan similar to yours and I have lost 30 lbs in 3 months. I didn’t find when I ate really made any difference. Eat when you’re hungry.
I did it using this free weight loss website to track my calories consumed and burned in the online calorie counter. It’s fabulous!: http://www.sparkpeople.com
