Even if you want to lose weight, you need to eat a fair amount of complex carbs to give your body energy (whole grain breads and pastas, brown rice, etc.), especially if you’re exercising daily. Protein is good too as it will help your muscles repair themselves after you work out.
This site is great – the initial calculation is how many calories you’d need if you wanted to maintain the weight you’re at now and if you were laying in bed all day (so if you ate less than that you’d automatically lose weight), or you can use the other links, like it says, to calculate your daily caloric needs according to your activity levels :) http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calcul… (sorry, i still need to figure out how to activate links lol)
    Good luck!

I’m seventeen, around 195 lbs and just over six feet tall. I’m trying to lose about 10 or 15 lbs. I lift every morning, and usually run about a mile on the track when I’m done with the weights.
I try to run every single day, if I don’t do it in the morning, I’ll run for a mile and a half after dark. I live in a small town, so you can do that without fear, lol.
To lose weight fast, I’m only eating the recommended amount of calories, about 2100-2200 for adult males. I only get protein through natural sources such as peanut butter, cheese and milk. (Lots of milk)
I’ve only started about two weeks ago, but I’ve already lost five lbs. And when I lose weight, I keep it off, so I’m happy.
If your main goal is to lose some lbs, I’d stick to the normal amount of calories. If you’re going for muscle, pay more attention to carbs and proteins than calories, though.

Depends on your weight and your body type. I’d say probably around 3000-4000. With a low carb diet, you don’t have to worry about calories as much because if you go into ketosis, then you will be burning fat for energy.
