I Am 6′2 204 Pounds…….should I Diet?

well I was somewhat sore initially on the diet but I became really sore after the cardio. Does running effect your upper body because even after playing basketball I would get sore. I am 6′2 204 pounds and want to get to 190 but I have increased my calorie intake but I find when eating healthy I tend to get to 800 to 1000 calories and my body is not very hungry.

your within your target weight for your height, no need to diet buddy maybe do some weight lifting to get a better defined figure, but 800-1000 calories for someone your size is not enough to sustain you even at 175lbs.

You are “possibly” overweight but nothing serious! I would suggest that while you cut out any excessively fatty foods and as much refined sugar from your diet, provided what’s left is healthy you probably don’t need to do too much more diet wise. Instead of looking at your weight, if you can get a body fat monitor, and work towards dropping your level of body fat through exercise to around 10% or lower while pretty much ignoring your overall weight.
FYI – I’m 44yo 6′2″, 180lbs, 7% bodyfat (this varies a little across the year), and once a month I’ll make a detailed diary of my calorie intake, which is usually in excess of 3200 calories per day, and has been known to be above 4000!

Your question bounces all over the place, so it’s kind of hard to understand. BUT. I’m 6′0 and I’m aiming for 200lbs. The thing is, are you fat, or built?
You say you want to lose weight, but then you say you increased your calories, which kind of defeats the purpose.
Either way! If you want to lose weight, eat NO Trans Fats, very little Saturated fats, and keep your intake to 1400 calories (don’t go below because then you’ll lose muscle, not fat).
Do cardio everyday, like running or basketball.

If u would feel more comfortable with yourself being lighter then yeh there’s no harm in dieting. Don’t go under a 1000 calories.
